In 1987, a cat named Kitty became the oldest cat to give birth. She was 30 years of age when her two kittens were born.
KITTENS AND MORE KITTENS
Cats generally give birth to four to six kittens at a time. However, it’s possible for a litter to consist of fewer offspring (although a single kitten is rather rare). Eight kittens is usually the high end of the range.
An average female cat can produce three litters a year. At four to six kittens per litter, this average cat and her offspring could (theoretically) give birth to more than 400,000 cats over seven years.
