KCS

Keratoconjunctivitis sicca is the technical term for a condition also known as 'dry eye.' It occurs because of inadequate tear production. Symptoms include a thick, yellowish discharge from the eye.

Kennel Cough

Bronchitis of an infectious nature (bacterial and viral) that occurs most frequently in young animals or those kenneled. Characterized by a 'goose honk', 'something stuck in the throat', harsh, hacking cough.

Keratitis

Inflammation of the cornea of the eye; may be caused by infection, trauma, or an allergic reaction.

Keratolytic

Softens and loosens crusts and scales on the skin.

Ketoacidosis (DKA )

A form of diabetes mellitus in which the pet has increased amounts of acids in the blood and is very sick.
