Unleashed! Cinema Corner: Behind the Scenes of Hotel for Dogs

Dog lovers everywhere, rejoice! This coming January, the dog story you’ve been dreaming of since you were a kid is hitting the big screen. When their new guardians prohibit Andi (played by Emma Roberts) and her younger brother Bruce (played by Jake T. Austin) from having a pet, the siblings are forced to find a new home for their dog, Friday. The resourceful teens turn an abandoned hotel into a resort for Friday and all of his stray friends, as mechanically inclined Bruce creates incredible contraptions to keep the dogs fed and entertained. Eventually, barking dogs cause the neighbors to investigate, forcing Andi and Bruce to use every invention they can think of to keep anyone from discovering their secret. Lisa Kudrow, Don Cheadle, and Kevin Dillon also star in this DreamWorks Pictures/Nickelodeon Movies collaboration. Adapted from a 1971 children’s book of the same name by Lois Duncan, Hotel for Dogs is the perfect family comedy–adventure to warm your heart on a cold winter’s day.
