The Case of the Disappearing Cat
The daily grind is something we generally take for granted in this mach-speed modern world. We wake up, go to school or work, come home, eat dinner, then turn in for the night. As it turns out, a Norwegian Forest cat from England named Sgt. Podge has developed his own routine, one that has many humans purring curious: At the onset of every evening, the cat disappears from Liz Bullard’s home, then shows up the next morning in the exact same spot some two miles away. It seems that when the cat went missing for the first time, his owner began calling her neighbors, and one of them recognized Sgt. Podge sitting outside her house. Liz drove over and picked up her cat, only to discover him missing again that very evening. The cat’s routine has now become part of her own. He jumps in her car, eats breakfast at home, then spends the rest of the day sleeping by the radiator, until he begins his evening quest all over again. Think Sgt. Podge knows something we don’t?
