New Orleans Aquarium Reopens

Staff at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans are rejoicing because their tanks are once again teeming with life. It was not that long ago that this seemed like an impossible dream, but thanks to the diligence of true humanitarians who contributed their time and money (repair costs soared above $5 million), this dream has come true. With 2,000 surviving animals mixing with new additions—sharks, stingrays, and other marine life—these aquatic creatures are now free, once again, to roam the idyllic waters of this beautiful park. Reopening day drew well over 3,000 fans.
