Mystery of the Pink Cat

On a fine day, Brumas, a 9-year-old cat, took his usual stroll down his usual path. But when he returned home, his owners were startled to see his snow-white coat had turned a bright pink. “He was pink, Barbie-doll pink—his head, his ears, all the way down his body,” said Brumas’ owners, who instantly took him to their wonderful veterinarian. The doctor told them, “Brumas is in good health, but I simply cannot find an explanation for the cat’s strange color. I can tell you it isn’t toxic and not in any way harmful to his health.” The owners were relieved but still dumfounded: “We have no clue how the color change happened, but we’re darn happy that he’s perfectly fine.” As for Brumas, he seems to be unaffected, aside from the possibility that he might like Barbie dolls just a little more now.
